I hope all is well in your world today. Spring has sprung here in the south and I for one am glad to see it.
I'm an old southern boy, born and bread. I like cold weather about as much as Hillary likes Barak (sorry, my Democratic friends, I just couldn't resist :o).
The sun is shining, the birds are signing, signs of new life all around.
Spring is also a great time for you to start that small business you've been dreaming of for so long.
And I'd be happy to help you make your dreams come true.
That's what this newsletter and my website is all about: introducing you to the prospect of becoming an entrepreneur and giving you the tools to make that happen.
Though I have to be honest; my actions over this past year caused many of my friends to question my sanity. That's what this week's column is all about and the title says it all, "Brick & Mortar? Boy, What Were You Thinking?"

Brick & Mortar? Boy, What Were You Thinking?
When I was a kid there were five words I heard more than all others combined. Usually coming from my father, they were, “Boy, what were you thinking?”
Those words typically came after he caught me doing something I shouldn’t have been or more often, after talking my younger brother into doing something really stupid that could have – but never did – end in his demise.
I hadn’t heard those words in many years (at least since my younger brother got taller than me). And I haven’t really missed hearing them (no sentimentality there). But a recent business venture of mine had everyone I know asking, “Man, what were you thinking?”
Is Brick & Mortar A Passing Fad?
During the dot-com boom the mantra was “Brick and mortar is dead!”
Then when most of the dot-com’s crashed like an elephant sitting on a wicker chair, the mantra suddenly changed back to “The Internet is dead! Long live brick and mortar!”
In both instances those doing the shouting were dead wrong (and highly annoying). The correct mantra should be “Long live ecommerce enabled brick and mortar!”
It’s not as catchy, but a lot more accurate...
